New novel sets sweeping love story on shores of Saint-Tropez

Mindy Croxie put up walls after her husband’s death. Can Blaine O’Neil and Saint-Tropez break them down?

NEW YORK – Celebrated author Gabrielle F. Culmer charms and enchants readers with her new novel that takes them from the busy streets of New York City to the pristine coastline of Saint Tropez in, “Arrive by Dusk” (published by Archway Publishing).

I wanted a novel where the characters have progressed to international professional status in the city unlike anything I have written,” Culmer shares. “I was also inspired by NY professional life and French cultural life, including their art, food and monuments.”

International landscape artist Mindy Croxie is desperate for a change of pace. Widowed at 34 and still grieving for her husband, Lamont, Mindy decides to participate in an art show along the Mediterranean Sea in Saint-Tropez. When she arrives, Mindy bumps into Blaine O’Neil, an old friend and flame who is opening a new luxury hotel near her art show.

Blaine has been wildly successful in his professional life, but his personal life is lacking. When he crosses paths with Mindy, Blaine sees this as an opportunity to pursue the life he once envisioned with Mindy. With Lamont and the life they should have lived still fresh in her mind, Mindy must decide if she is ready to let go of the past and embrace a new life and love.

Through her novel, Culmer hopes to instill an appreciation for the arts in readers. She says, “It is an attractive novel and after reading everyone will want some of Blaine’s ambition and Mindy’s stoicism in glamorous settings.”
